ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Timothy (Tim) Paul Spradlin is a prolific storyteller and an enthusiast of Christmas and history. In his book ‘The Saga of Belsnickel, A Yule Time Christmas Story’ he blends the origins of Yule with the Traditions of Christmas to bring about a whole new holiday tale, and a whole new Christmas Tradition.

As a US Army Veteran, Tim spent over four years deployed to Bosnia and Iraq. As a result, he brings a unique perspective on what it means to be alone during the holidays and the joy of reuniting with loved ones.

These experiences aid in his writing style and help the reader feel what it means to have the comfort of family, the support of friends, and the peace one feels to be home for the holidays.

THE SAGA OF BELSNICKEL
The Saga of Belsnickel is a series of epic winter tales that follow a young Scandinavian boy named Ulvie, living in the year 1103 A.D., at a time when the old gods of the North are fading and the light of the Nazarene begins to dawn across the land. These stories will add new Christmas Traditions for your family.

Torn between these two worlds, one rooted in Norse myth, the other in the growing Christian faith, Ulvie must find his path with courage, truth, and an ancient axe passed down through generations.
He is not alone.

At his side are Donner and Blitzen, two reindeer as brave as they are loyal, and the wise gnomes of the Thurinickel clan, guardians of the forest and keepers of forgotten lore. Guiding them from afar is Herr Klaus, the mysterious Watcher of the North, whose ancient past hides more than a little magic.

As snow deepens trolls and frost giants stir once more in the shadows of Jötunheim, Ulvie must undertake a perilous journey, one that will test his heart, his faith, and his place in the world.

These stories blend Norse mythology, Christian allegory, and classic fairy-tale adventure, told in a style inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, George MacDonald, and illustrations inspired by the world of Rien Poortvliet.

Whether you are young or old, these tales will speak to the part of you that still believes in wonder, in courage, and in the light that shines in the darkest winter.
